Unlock the bold, boundary-blurring vision of Henri Matisse in this immersive workshop! Guided by artist Michael Nock, you’ll explore how Matisse transformed windows and doors into dynamic portals—merging indoor and outdoor worlds with vibrant Fauvist colours and flattened perspectives.
What to Expect:
Inspiration: Study iconic works like Open Window, Collioure (1905) and The Blue Window (1913), discovering how Matisse used frames to unify space.
Playful Techniques: Create a cardboard viewfinder to compose your own "framed" masterpiece, then paint a "Wine Cellar Window" with wild, imaginative landscapes (think magenta hills, lime-green vineyards!).
Collage Twist: Optional cut-out paper frames à la Matisse’s later style.
Fauvist Flair: Dive into unmixed colours, black outlines for contrast, and bold compositional balance.
This workshop targets a range of learning abilities.
No art experience is required.
All ages are welcome; only those above 18 YO will be served wine.
